Christmas may be over, however there’s still one gift you can give that will keep on giving.…your Christmas tree!
Bring One for the Chipper is a program that has helped Georgians recycle their Christmas trees for the past 30 years. This program is available in hundreds of communities statewide and has recycled over 6 million Christmas trees. Recycling your Christmas tree keeps them out of landfills by recycling them into mulch. The mulch from these trees is donated to playgrounds, government beautification projects, parks and to individuals for yards. In areas with lakes, these trees are dropped in the lake and transformed into fish habitats. You can support this program by bringing your unadorned Christmas tree to a designated drop off site. Check out the list of locations.
